Dear Max
There are reports that make parents concerned or cross, and there are reports that make us happy or relieved, and last week we got your end-of-term progress report that fitted into the latter.
Aside from listing competencies in basic skills, there was also a note from your teacher Kim, which probably measures more for me at this point than whether you can grip a pencil or jump on one leg (both of which you can do!)
Here’s what Kim wrote (and here’s what I cried to):
“It’s hard to believe that the little toddler who started at the school is the ‘big’ boy who stands before me today! He has progressed steadily and confidently and his enthusiasm is infectious. He is well on the road to mastering all the perceptual skills and his language development has grown in leaps and bounds. His commitment to and love of trucks/transport is inspirational, and we could all take a leaf out of his ‘book’. I am truly blessed to spend time with Max on a day-to-day bases. Well done, Maxi – Kimmi loves you”.
How my heart beats happily to not only the love you receive at school, but how you grow, master and inspire.
Well done, my dude,
Mom
