The best night lights in Johannesburg?

December 22, 2011

Dear Max

This week we went to the Joburg Zoo to look at their Christmas lights. What a treat. You and I were both irritated when we got there – I think you had cabin fever, and I was tired from all my tussles with my toddler.

But that all lifted as soon as we saw our first animal in lights. What a site! A beautiful night lit up by gorgeous lights structures in different colours. We walked around, you marvelled at the lights, and gasped at the giant Christmas tree. What a wonder that a zoo in the middle of the ‘burbs has such a festive and enlightening (who could resist?) attractions. There were also some food stalls, and it was cool to see some picnickers, and old and young peeps there.

You had a ball, and you loved the horse and car rides – so brave you were riding solo, with a massive grin and your curls flapping as you whizzed past.

As we got into the car, it was lights out. For you.

Thanks for a great night out,
