While I can’t call you my favourite child anymore, you are certainly my favourite son (duh!) and today we celebrate seven years of amazing you.
This isn’t a post about how much I love you, or how wonderful you are, or how my life is spectacularly better with you in it. I think this message comes through in many other blog posts, especially the birthday ones.
Rather, it’s a post to wish you a year full of good things, that I will do my best to help you achieve. May you build more LEGO, may you soar to your best at school, may you do well at karate (your wish, not necessarily mine), and may you keep on making people smile and feel good with your compassion and kindness.
May you finally catch a fish at St Francis, may you continue to be loved and doted on by your family, and may the crappy times lead to learning, growth and easy recovery (or even LEGO?).
May you carry on whipping our butts at Monopoly, while still realising that “losing” isn’t really ever that. And may you never stop seeing the humour in so many things.
I know I wouldn’t say, but I love you so much my dude. And yes, my life is pretty darn awesome with you in it.
Happy happy birthday! Here’s to many more healthy and happy years.
