Why I would send you to Detroit (#FordNAIAS)

January 16, 2013

Dear Max

This post finds me drinking a Diet Dr Pepper and at in Detroit for the North American International Auto Show with Ford, where I’m with around 150 other bloggers from 10 countries.

Detroit is not the most exciting place, and people very much rolled their eyes when they heard I was coming here, having recently seen its bleak landscape in the movie Searching for Sugarman. And while the little I have seen of the landscape is a bit bleak, grey (it is winter though) and flat, the people here are friendly and warm, and we’ve been to some very cool places. Forget theme parks Max, there are so many cars and four-wheeled cool stuff, I think you’d love it here.

We’re yet to hit the auto show, but look what I’ve seen already, from the Henry Ford Museum, and the Ford Rouge Factory. My little dude, for every wheel I’ve seen, I’ve thought of you and my heart has turned. Missing you!

PS: You’d love the iStore at Twelve Oaks shopping mall too!
