Yesterday we had an initiation afternoon at your new nursery school. I felt like I was starting school myself, and had a mixture of nerves and excitement.
Readers will know that I to’ed and fro’ed and umed and ahed about schools, but I’m pretty sure we made a good choice for you for now.
I felt at ease as soon as we walked in, and I felt like we belonged. I didn’t feel that my car was too small, that I wasn’t wearing enough labels, or that you wouldn’t fit in. In fact, it pretty much felt like home. Add to this the warm teachers, a cool playground and some friends there, and we were set. And what would a Jewish function be without food? If your school was to be judged on its catering alone (particularly the millionaire’s shortbread), it would be a winner.
So we mingled a bit, met your teacher and principal, and chatted to some of the parents. As is your style, you roamed confidently, explored, and spent time on the things you love. You weren’t so interested in socialising, but I’m sure that will come. Here’s what you got up to:
